Cancer Symptoms Management
People who have been diagnosed with cancer may have concerns about the side-effects of cancer and cancer treatment, emotional or spiritual health, or financial issues. Our Cancer Symptoms site describes the services in place at Continuum Cancer Centers of New York to help our patients with these issues.

Programs/Support Services
Managing breast disease involves much more than medical treatment. Our Breast Services recognize the importance of addressing women's emotional needs as well as related health concerns and questions. A variety of support programs, educational information and referrals to assist a woman's individual needs are available through Continuum's Cancer Center/Programs.

One-to-one and Group Support

Staff and volunteers are available to patients for emotional support and assistance. A support group for newly diagnosed patients is held at the Cancer Center on an on-going basis. Support groups and other educational events, developed in conjunction with SHARE (self-help for women with breast and ovarian cancer), are offered throughout the year.
Women are referred to psychiatrists, social workers, nutritionists, chaplains and others as needed. A variety of support therapies such as yoga, meditation and other complementary therapies are provided.
Educational Programs
A wide range of community lectures from prevention and early detection—to the latest information about new treatments—is offered throughout the year.
