The service is located in a beautiful new suite at the Cancer Center, conveniently located at Phillips Ambulatory Care Center on Union Square. With radiology, pathology, and comprehensive services available in one location, a suspected malignancy can be ruled out or confirmed quickly, and treatment options — including reconstructive surgery — can be outlined in a single visit. Many women with breast cancer receive all their comprehensive care at the ambulatory Cancer Center. Dedicated to addressing patients' emotional as well as physical needs, the service offers full support programs including psychiatry, social work, and individual and group support. In addition, the service is committed to identifying the causes of breast cancer and advanced treatments, and encourages participation in clinical research. An accurate and immediate diagnosis and staging of breast disease is essential for optimal treatment planning and peace of mind. Dr. Venet was a principal investigator of the seminal Health Insurance Plan of New York, which definitely proved for the first time a life-saving benefit to routine mammography. Dr. Venet will forever be remembered for his lifesaving work in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, and much of the success achieved today in this field is owed to his ground-breaking efforts.
