The First Call
Please call (212) 420-4135 to schedule an intake. During this call, your child’s insurance will be verified, so please have that information on hand. Please also call this number if you need to cancel or reschedule your first appointment.

Your First Visits
The intake process usually requires 2-3 visits, each lasting 45-50 minutes. The intake is how we get to know you and you get to know us. We will ask you a series of questions about what brings you in, what you are looking for, how we can help, and other questions to accurately make a diagnosis and understand how we might best serve you.

If you and the intake clinician believe that we can be of help, the intake clinician presents your information to the Disposition Team, who then formalizes a treatment plan. You will be notified of the plan either by phone or in writing, and either assigned to a clinician or placed on the wait list for services.

Here are some other things that you might bring to your first appointment:

• Previous records from other mental health agencies
• School records (e.g., Individualized Education Plans)
• Prior clinical evaluations such as psychological testing, speech and language evaluations
• Medical Records and results of last Physical Exam
