Prenatal Services
Genetic counseling is provided at our main location on daily basis. A wide
range of prenatal and postnatal genetic-related issues are addressed by our
genetic counselor and the Division Chief. Among them the most common reasons
for consultation are:
- Genetic screening for chromosome disorders. These include first trimester screening, second trimester screening, and integrated screening using sonographic and maternal blood information.
- Neural tube defects screening.
- Ashkenazi Jewish screening
- Cystic fibrosis screening
- Hemoglobinopathies screening (sickle cell and thalassemias)
- Target screening due to family history or ethnic background
