The Allergy Division was formed in 1971 under the leadership of James M. Rubin, MD, with the goal to provide diagnostic and treatment capabilities for patients with allergic diseases and to improve the teaching of physicians.

The most commonly treated conditions are:

• Bronchial asthma
• Allergic rhinitis (hayfever)
• Allergic conjunctivitis
• Sinus problems
• Hives
• Eczema
• Allergic skin problems due to contact, such as poison ivy

Patients are seen in the clinic, in private offices and as inpatients during a hospital stay.

Our division is actively involved in educating clinical staff about allergies and immunology. We participate in clinical research and frequently publish our findings.
