American Cancer Society (ACS) (www.cancer.org) Provides information on ACS programs and events, and local ACS chapters.


American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) (www.asco.org) The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) is an organization that represents more than 10,000 cancer professionals worldwide, ASCO offers scientific and educational programs as well as other initiatives intended to foster the exchange of information about cancer. ASCO Online offers services for both professionals and people with cancer, including extensive information on its 'patient' page - www.plwc.org. The ASCO site also has a 'search index', which can help you easily locate topics such as clinical trials and local resources.


Cancer Care (www.cancercare.org) Cancer Care is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to provide free professional help to people with all cancers through counseling, education, information and referral and direct financial assistance.


National Cancer Institute (www.cancer.gov) The National Cancer Institute is responsible for conducting and supporting research on cancer. There is extensive information on this Web site about the NCI and its programs.

The “PDQ” section (http://www.cancer.gov/cancer_information/pdq/ ) is a NCI database that contains the latest information about cancer treatment, screening, prevention, genetics, and supportive care, plus clinical trials. A valuable section of the site called "CancerNet" contains a wealth of information about cancer, treatment options, detection, prevention, genetics, supportive care, clinical trials, and a ‘kid page.’ There is also a Spanish-language button. The NCI dictionary (http://cancer.gov/dictionary) is a comprehensive glossary of cancer-related terms.


National Coalition for Cancer Survivorship (NCCS) (www.canceradvocacy.org) NCCS is a grassroots network of individuals and organizations providing advocacy on behalf of people with all types of cancer.

OncoLink (www.oncolink.upenn.edu) OncoLink is a project of the University of Pennsylvania Cancer Center. It is an excellent source of the latest and most newsworthy developments relating to cancer, research and treatment. Oncolink provides extensive articles and references from all the major news organizations (including wire services), the major and specialized cancer-related journals, and cancer-related newsletters. It is the most comprehensive source of this type of information, literally a "one-stop-shopping" for cancer-related research. To ease your task, OncoLink also has a 'search index' at the bottom of the first page.


The Alternative Medicine Home Page (www.pitt.edu/~cbw/altm.html) This page is a jump station for sources of information on unconventional, unorthodox, unproven, or alternative, complementary, innovative, integrative therapies. National Alliance of Breast Cancer Organizations (NABCO) (nabco.org) NABCO is a network of more than 375 organizations providing detection, treatment and care to anyone affected by breast cancer. This site provides information, assistance and referral to anyone with questions about breast cancer, and links to related Web sites.

Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (komen.org) The mission of this organization is to eradicate breast cancer as a life threatening disease by advancing research, education, screening and treatment.


Colorectal Cancer
Colon Cancer Alliance (ccalliance.org) The Colon Cancer Alliance brings the voice of survivors to battle colorectal cancer through patient support, education, research and advocacy.


Gynecologic Cancer
Gynecologic Cancer Foundation (www.wcn.org/gcf) The Gynecologic Cancer Foundation (GCF) was established by the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists (SGO) as a not-for-profit charitable organization to raise funds to support philanthropic programs to benefit women having or at risk for developing a gynecologic cancer.


National Cervical Cancer Coalition (nccc-online.org)
The National Cervical Cancer Coalition (NCCC) is a growing grass roots coalition of women's groups, medical professionals, hospitals, patients and other associations interested in educating legislators, payors, the public and the news media, about the cervical cancer screening test, the Pap smear. The site also contains information about the cervical cancer and its treatment.


Society of Gynecologic Oncologists (SGO) (sgo.org)
The SGO is a non-profit, international organization made up of obstetricians and gynecologists specializing in gynecologic oncology. Its purpose is to improve the care of women with gynecologic cancer, to raise standards of practice in gynecologic oncology and to encourage on-going research. The site includes a listing of physician members.


Ovarian Cancer National Alliance (ovariancancer.org)
The Alliance is working at the national level to increase public and professional understanding of ovarian cancer and to advocate for increased research for more effective diagnostics and treatment. As an umbrella organization, the Alliance unites the efforts of ovarian cancer grassroots activists, women's health advocates, and health care professionals to focus national attention on ovarian cancer.


Head and Neck Cancer
Support for People with Oral and Head and Neck Cancer, Inc. (SPOHNC) (spohnc.org) SPOHNC is a patient-directed, self-help organization dedicated to meeting the needs of oral and head and neck cancer patients.


American Head and Neck Society (headandneckcancer.org)
This site provides eduction to those with head and neck cancer and their family members. Covers detection, prevention and treatment.


Lung Cancer
Lung Cancer Awareness Campaign (lungcancer.org) Cancer Care, Inc, ALCASE, Cancer Research Foundation and the National Coalition of Cancer Survivorship have come together to increase awareness of the impact of lung cancer, especially among women, promote better diagnosis and treatment of the disease, and increase research funding. And, most importantly, to prevent this deadly cancer through reduced smoking. This site offers information about lung cancer and resources.


Lymphoma
Lymphoma Research Foundation of America, Inc. (lymphoma.org) The Lymphoma Research Foundation of America, Inc. is a national, non-profit organization which funds lymphoma research and provides educational information for patients. The Web site contains information on what's new, general information on lymphoma, support group listings, clinical trial information, and connects people with lymphoma with each other through a program called "Cell Mates".


The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (leukemia-lymphoma.org) The LSA is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is dedicated to a cure for leukemia and related cancers, and to improving quality of life for people affected leukemia, multiple myeloma, lymphoma, and Hodgkin's Disease. The site offers education, research and patient services.


Pancreas Cancer
Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org) The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) works to focus national attention on the need to find the cure for pancreatic cancer. PanCAN provides public and professional education that embraces the urgent need for more research, effective treatments, prevention programs, and early detection methods.


Prostate Cancer
CaP Cure (capcure.org) CaP Cure is a non-profit public charity dedicated to finding a cure for prostate cancer. CaP CURE supports the work of top scientists at more than 70 research centers around the world.

Malecare (malecare.com) Malecare is a national nonprofit with a very informative doctor and patient written website, featuring over two hundred articles on prostate, testicular and male breast cancer, in English, Spanish, French and Italian. Their website is updated at least once per week. Malecare also facilitates prostate cancer support groups here in New York City.
